Three abstract paintings on a white gallery wall. The paintings feature red, black, and subtle patterns, with the left and right paintings having a black border and the middle one being larger.

Aeon - print series

More generally ´aeon´ means ´eternity´. In geology, an ´aeon´ is a very long period of time. Aeons divide the 4.6-billion-year history of the world into four parts. These are the long intervals, virtually eternities, which make it possible to speak about the time spans, in which stardust coalesced into planets and solar systems. In the series, Aeon we encounter infinity juxtaposed to proximity. These processed photographs of space highlight the night sky in all its formidable darkness. But a section of red-hot surfaces rips through the depth. Flowing and light. Hot and present.

The Aeon series is a study in contrasting effects. A study of how red and black pigments come across deep and intense against the white paper, and a representation of the remoteness of the black in an encounter with the bodily heat of the red shades. Aeon is about the encounter between eternity and moment, depht and surface, life and death.
