CLOUD STRUCTURE

Cloud Structure (2018)
Pigment print on cotton paper, 150 x 125 cm

In Cloud Structure Bjarne Werner Sørensen is exploring the characteristics and structures of clouds: Are the clouds in a process of dissolving or assembling? Are they in constant movement, or do they evolve a final shape? The interaction between painting and graphic print is central to the artist’s work. The exhibited work is based on photographical recordings of a painting during its creation. The recordings have been digitally processed into a graphic image in several layers. Through the meandering, vibrating and intertwining glowing lines Cloud Structure expresses the changeability and tension that characterize the formation of clouds. The two opposing movements of dissolving and assembling exist side by side in the work, creating an ambiguity that seems to say: Not either or, but both.
