Vases and Tiles

In May 2020, Bjarne Werner Sørensen was invited to decorate the vases at Galleriet Hornbæk. This was his first time working with clay slips: colored, liquid fine clay that is glazed and fired. This sparked a new wave of work in this medium. The form of "Hornbæk Krukken" is the result of a dialogue between Susanne Risom, the owner of Galleriet Hornbæk, and the artist Pylle Søndergård. The vase's international character is evident in its blend of Japanese and English ceramic traditions. The vase stands at 70 centimeters high and was crafted by one of Europe's most skilled potters.
